He Knows This Road
DaVarryl Williamson grew up in poverty in Washington, D.C., with a father in prison and a mother fighting addiction. A boxing gym gave him something to hold onto: discipline, a mentor, a way out. He turned it into a ten-time national championship, a Hall of Fame career, and a college degree as a first-generation student.
He started TYP in 2015 for one reason: so the next kid gets the same shot he did. Every young person who walks through the door gets a dedicated coach in their corner, no matter where they come from.
“This isn’t a gym. It’s a family.”
